India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad has been officially announced by the BCCI. The 15-member team will play in the UAE this September.
India, the defending champions, are chasing a record-extending ninth title.

Suryakumar Yadav to Lead India in Asia Cup 2025
Suryakumar Yadav has been named captain for the Asia Cup 2025. Shubman Gill has been selected as vice-captain for the tournament. Selectors have combined experience with youthful energy in the squad.
Jasprit Bumrah Makes a Strong Comeback
The biggest highlight is the return of Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah last played white-ball cricket in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He missed the Champions Trophy due to injury and was later rested. Now, Bumrah is back to lead the Indian pace attack. He will partner with Arshdeep Singh and youngster Harshit Rana.
The batting unit looks powerful and balanced. Along with captain Suryakumar Yadav, vice-captain Shubman Gill strengthens the top order. Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Rinku Singh bring recent form and confidence. All three had breakthrough performances in the last year.
Sanju Samson has been selected as the first-choice wicketkeeper. He recently formed a solid opening stand with Abhishek Sharma. Jitesh Sharma has also been included as a second wicketkeeping option. He provides finishing power in the lower order. The all-round strength of India looks impressive. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel remain crucial after strong ICC campaigns. Shivam Dube provides additional power with bat and ball.
India’s spinners include Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav. Varun impressed in the UAE during the Champions Trophy. Kuldeep makes his T20I return after the 2024 World Cup final.
